Former McDonald’s employee shares money-saving menu hacks

An investment and money expert who used to work at McDonald’s shares some of the most effective secret ways you can save a lot of money on food.

While McDonald’s is one of the most popular and affordable fast-food restaurants out there, its prices have been gradually rising. With inflation at an all-time high, we all could use some hacks to save money off of McDonald’s menu items.

Queenie Tan, who dispenses investment and money advice on social media under the username @investwithqueenie provides just that with her money-saving hacks for McDonald’s. Being a former employee at McDonald’s, she comes with first-hand experience of using these hacks herself.

Tan captions her latest video saying,

My first job was at McDonalds and this was something I learned when I worked there 🤯 did you know about this?

She then proceeds to show that if you want to get chicken nuggets, instead of buying a small nugget meal for $10.55 AUD, you can get the exact same thing for $8.70 AUD when you buy a chicken nugget Happy Meal instead.

She says,

Did you know you can save 20 per cent off a small meal by making it a Happy Meal instead?
I bought a chicken nugget Happy Meal for $8.70 AUD (£6.69) and I bought a small nuggets meal for $10.55 AUD (£8.11). I don't know what to tell you but they're the same.

Tan’s favourite McDonald’s secret item

In an earlier vide, Tan also shared a secret menu item that fans can order at McDonald’s. She shows how you can get a sundae for way less than the price by just ordering a soft serve in a lid with chocolate or caramel sauce. It costs way less but it’s basically the same thing.

She states,

You can get a soft serve in a lid with chocolate or caramel sauce. It’s like a mini-sundae but it only costs $1.3.
