Now a fully-fledged member of the British royal family since her marriage to Charles III in 2005 at Windsor Town Hall, Camilla Parker Bowles has since been known by the titles of Duchess of Cornwall and Queen Consort. Her meteoric rise within the monarchy has made her one of the UK's most influential personalities. Although she has long been compared to Lady Diana, she now enjoys a very special status. With a makeover to match the codes of royalty, Camilla has apparently never changed her favourite fragrance. It may no longer be readily available in stores, but you can find its perfect equivalent!

A royal fragrance at an affordable price

An article in Public magazine reveals the name of Camilla Parker Bowles' favourite fragrance: Bandit by Robert Piguet. Created in 1944 by nose Germaine Cellier, this chypre and floral fragrance boasts a rich, complex olfactory pyramid.

A skilful blend of aldehydes, bergamot, neroli, gardenia, ylang-ylang and orange form the first layer of this fragrance. This is completed by a heart of carnation, jasmine, violet root, tuberose and rose, between delicate and fresh notes. Finally, the composition closes with the power of oakmoss, leather, civet, vetiver, patchouli, myrrh, amber and, as a little surprise, delicious coconut.

A French perfumery par excellence that's very hard to find in 2023. But don't panic, we've found a very similar modern fragrance, whose inspirations are not unlike those of Camilla Parker Bowles' favourite perfume. It's Azurée by Estée Lauder.

Estée Lauder
  • Top notes: Aldehydes, artemisia, basil, gardenia, sage, bergamot
  • Heart notes: Cyclamen, iris root, jasmine, ylang-ylang, geranium, vetiver, rose
  • Base notes: Leather, amber, patchouli, musk, oakmoss

As a result, the two olfactory pyramids are very similar, for an incredible trail blending elegance and character, which has seduced Camilla Parker Bowles for years. Right now, the dupe of her favourite fragrance is at a discounted price on Notino, dropping to €77 from €98. A bargain you shouldn't miss!

A collection of precious perfumes by Estée Lauder

In terms of fragrance, the Royal Family is very attached to British houses such as Floris, which created the late Elizabeth II's favourite perfume, and Penhaligon's, which created a luxury fragrance in collaboration with Charles III. But the American brand Estée Lauder is also a destination not to be ignored. Indeed, while its catalog contains a very faithful dupe of Camilla Parker Bowles' favourite scent, many of its creations deserve attention. Like this perfume from the private collection: Tuberose Gardenia.

Estée Lauder
  • Top notes: Neroli, lilac, rosewood
  • Heart notes: Tuberose, gardenia, orange blossom, jasmine, white lily of the valley, orange blossom
  • Base notes: carnation, bourbon vanilla
