Whilst being held hostage with her children by her boyfriend, a woman managed to escape by ordering a pizza online.

In Florida, Cheryl Treadaway, 25, was held hostage by her boyfriend Ethan Nickerson, who was under the influence of drugs. The mother-of-three and her boyfriend had apparently been fighting all day until he took out a knife and threatened them all. He then held her hostage, preventing her from going out or using her phone.

After spending hours negotiating, she finally convinced him to let her orderpizza for the kids. It was through using Pizza Hut’s mobile application that the mother was able to save her family. In the ‘special requests’ box, Cheryl asked that the employees call the police, saying specifically that she was being held hostage.

Employees found the call for help whilst they were mid-way through making her pepperoni pizza and called the police immediately. The police then arrived at the house and found the mother holding her baby, whilst the man was holed up in one of the rooms, refusing to leave.

He was finally arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, battery, false imprisonment and obstructing justice by depriving communication to law enforcement. Cheryl and her three children escapedsafeand sound.
