According to Express, Diana had signed her original will on June 1, 1993, but then made changes in 1996. Lady Diana had made her wishes clear, but after her death, her co-executors and trustees of her estate changed an aspect: when Prince William and Prince Harry would get their inheritance.

Moreover, one beneficiary of her estate may come as a surprise as he is not a member of the family.

Princess Diana’s will was changed

Princess Diana’s will named her mother, Frances Ruth Shand Kydd, and her sister Lady Elizabeth Sarah Lavinia McCorquodale as co-executors and trustees of her estate. This meant they were in charge of the money and estate that belonged to Diana.

As reported by Express, Diana’s will stated that her boys would receive their inheritance through a trust fund when they reached the age of 25. Diana’s mother and sister decided to make some changes to the will and the courts allowed it.

In the end, Prince William and Prince Harry would only receive their inheritance when they were 30.

Who else was is Princess Diana’s will?

According to Express, Princess Diana left money to her 17 godchildren. She also left £50,000 to her former butler, Paul Burrel.

Moreover, Princess Diana’s wedding dress was left to her two sons, but before it went to them, it travelled the world and was part of many exhibitions. Her dress was made of thousands of pearls and silk layers and had a 25ft long train.

The boys received the dress in 2014. Designer David Emmanuel said in 2014:

That gown has earned its keep. It has been around the globe many, many times.
I think more people abroad have seen it than British people. What's extraordinary is, after so many years, people are still talking about it.
