According to The Sun, Love Island bombshell Tom Clare was in a committed relationship just weeks before heading to South Africa. Tom posted a loved-up picture with ex-girlfriend Emily Mott a few months ago and declared they’ll be together ‘forever.’
However, in a new twist, the footballer ended his long-term – for over three years – relationship with his air hostess girlfriend. People close to the couple and who knew them were shocked to see Tom as a potential bombshell on the show. An insider revealed:
Everyone was really shocked to see Tom pop up as a bombshell.
As far as most people knew he was really loved up with Emily. They were always together and enjoyed exotic holidays together.
They were even talking about marriage at one point
Will Tom be on the show?
Tom has been given permission to go on a break from Macclesfield FC for Love Island. Voting lines to choose either Tom or Ellie as the first bombshell are closed now and a result is still awaited. Meaning, it’s not even certain whether Tom would get a place in the villa or not.
Meanwhile, Tom confessed that he hasn’t found anyone worthwhile after his ex. In his pre-show interview, Tom said:
Since my ex-girlfriend, no one’s really come to me and I’ve thought, ‘Wow’.
Until I have that, I’m not really going to settle for less. Not in a bad way, but the next person I get with, I want to marry.
