Set to release on the big screens on November 11, 2022, the movie has been awaited by MCU fans with great anticipation. With exceptional visuals and memorable soundtracks, the trailer has taken the internet by storm with theories and speculations. The question of who the new Black Panther is has been riding the internet for months now, and we finally might have an answer.
Marvel’s line of succession
It is no fresh news that Marvel has been consciously shifting its focus on the next-in-line successors and superheroes to take the mantle. Whether Iron Man or Thor, Marvel has been introducing the next-gen of their superheroes, and it is the same for Black Panther.
Threats to Wakanda
As Marvel embraces its fourth phase, Wakanda is hit with yet another set of threats, as it has lost its protector. And ‘who is the new Black Panther’ comes into question.
According to Mashable, it is none other than Shuri, King T’Challa’s younger sister. Being his former quartermaster, the tech-savvy Shuri (played by Letitia Wright) is rumored to take the mantle and assume her role as the new Black Panther.
The new Black Panther
Fans worldwide are convinced that Shuri is the new Black Panther, although the trailer doesn’t explicitly reveal so. All we see is a new person (presumably female) donning the resurrected Black Panther suit towards the end of the trailer.
Speculation is leaning towards Shuri and Nakia (King T’Challa’s former lover). But, the Independent pointed out a startling revelation by a fan that no one can look past. And that is the mask of the new Black Panther. The mask allegedly matches Shuri’s signature face painting to the dot. And this apparently solves the mystery of who is Marvel’s next superhero.
