But comparing every Love Island relationship to a star couple like Ekin-Su and Davide isn't the best idea. With every couple that gets together, there is said to be a chance for a breakup. From being happily in love to enduring a nasty split, many a new relationship has had things going south, things change in just a year.

Dating is a tricky business, especially in the ITV Love Island villa. Just because a couple wins the show, doesn't mean they really found the love of their life in the villa—in fact, that can be far from the truth sometimes.

Some of these solid relationships did get called off with time, either months or years later, like it was meant to. There are many reasons for a Love Island pair to split up, and some of them are just natural. But, there are some relationships that broke off, which got fans feeling extremely shocked and confused.

Here's a look at various Love Islandrelationships that broke off and left fans just shell-shocked.

Faye and Teddy

Things were going well for this pair, and they even made it to the final episode. But, in recent months, the couple announced they had called off their relationship. Fans got the shock of their lives as the couple seemed to be going strong, as per the image they had going on Instagram. But disappointing their fan following, the couple confirmed that this time, things were definitely over, as they called things off.

Amber and Michael

Love Island season 5 star Amber was ruthlessly dumped by her beau Michael while in the villa. This split really blindsided both Amber and the fans of Love Island, as Michael suddenly paired up with a new girl and broke Amber's heart. Amber got even this time when she later won the series, like the boss girl she is. But anyone who is following Love Island from the start knows how upset the star was at that moment.

Siannise and Luke

The pair that reached the final episode of Love Island season 6 was said to be in love. But after two years of trying to be a family and living together, they later announced and confirmed their split, as per many a source. Being one of the most popular ITV couples on Instagram and in real life, this split made news, as people following this couple from day 1 could not believe that they weren't dating anymore.

Chloe and Toby

This couple that rocked season 7 was said to be inseparable, till they were not. They lasted a year together after Love Island ended, but just months after their first anniversary, the pair confirmed and announced their split. People did not see this coming, as they often shared pictures of each other on Instagram and just seemed happy. But this news went to show how no couple from Love Island is permanent, unlike they really made things work.

Georgia and Sam

Just a few months are the ITV series ended, the couple was said to have split up. With nasty cheating rumors and allegations against Georgia, Sam allegedly told publicly that Georgia isn't loyal. The image of this relationship really broke, and fans shared their disappointment with its source pointing towards this split. This didn't do well for Georgia's image, as people who watched the show at the time couple not digest the news.

Millie and Liam

Here's a classic example of a couple who won Love Island with (almost) flying colors, but unfortunately did not stick together after their stint on the show.

Millie Court and Liam Reardon won the show in 2021, but split after a year in July 2022. Millie took to Instagram to announce the news, and at the time a close source said:

It's been really hard for both Millie and Liam to come to this decision.
There has been no drama or wrongdoing and they both still fully support each other and will remain close friends.
