Life at Buckingham Palace

On Thursday’s episode (Nov 24), Owen Warner asked Mike Tindall if he had been to Buckingham and revealed that he has spent the night at Buckingham Palace, and surprisingly, wandered around in only jeans and a t-shirt.

At first, he had simply said ‘more than most’ when asked if he had been, adding:

A lot of it’s all the state rooms and there’s only a little bit of living. Yeah I’ve stayed there.

Owen then asked if he had to follow a dress code or if he could walk around in his pyjamas. Mike explained that he had to be somewhat dressed but nothing fancy:

No, jeans and a tee

Zara won’t greet Mike when he finishes

As many know by now, Mike Tindall married Zara Philips, Princess Anne’s daughter, back in 2011.

Owen, who seems to be fascinated by the couple, asked Mike if he was nervous when he met Zara since she was royalty. Surprisingly, Zara wasn’t the first Royal the England rugby player had met.

He revealed that he had met Prince William and Prince Harry on several occasions since they are both big rugby fans, also mentioning that Princess Anne is patron of Scottish Rugby.

When asked if he felt pressure when meeting Zara, Mike said:

No because we were friends first and then William and Harry were massive England fans at the time, so we’d met them numerous times. Met more of the family than you’d normally have met of the woman you start dating

According to Edwina Currie, Zara Philips won’t meet her husband when he finishes his time in the jungle. According to Currie, Zara is aware of the publicity that would come if she were to go to Australia and also, the pair’s three children need her more.

Edwina, who was on the show in 2014, said:

I don’t think she’ll come because she’d be there now. My own opinion is that she won’t be there, not least because the kids need her more than anything.
She’ll be very conscious as the monarch's niece that you can take this kind of publicity a bit too far.
