Since Charles became King, he has reportedly been trying to kick his brother out of Royal Lodge, where Prince Andrew is living with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorced in 1996. The couple have since remained friends and seemingly have a healthy relationship as they co-parented their two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Despite being shunned from Royal events, Prince Andrew is allowed to attend some Royal engagements, and recently, he attended the memorial for the late King of Greece.

Prince Andrew attended the late King of Greece’s memorial

As reported by Mirror, Prince Andrew attended the memorial for King Constantine of Greece at Windsor Castle today, Tuesday, February 27. Several other Royals attended the memorial, however, two key people were missing.

King Charles was not present as was expected, however, Prince William pulled out of the memorial at late notice citing ‘personal reasons’, as per Mirror. It is believed that Prince William personally called the Greek Royal Family to inform them he would not be able to attend the memorial.

Despite not being a working Royal, the Duke of York was invited to the memorial by the Greek Royal Family.

The Sun's royal correspondent Matt Wilkinson wrote on X:

It is understood, the Duke of York, is attending as a member of the British Royal Family and was invited by the Greek Royal Family.

This means that Prince Andrew didn’t attend the memorial in an ‘official’ capacity but in a ‘personal’ one instead.

Sarah Ferguson also attended the late King of Greece’s memorial

If you were surprised by Prince Andrew’s attendance at King Constantine’s memorial, you may also be surprised by the fact that his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson also attended the memorial.

Since divorcing Prince Andrew in 1996, Sarah Ferguson rarely attends high-profile Royal engagements. However, recently, she seems to be invited back into the family as King Charles softens the rules.

Indeed, Sarah Ferguson joined the Royal Family for their annual Christmas walkabout in 2023, her first one in 32 years after reportedly being banned from attending by her former father-in-law, Prince Phillip, as per Daily Mail.

Sarah Ferguson joined Princess Anne, Zara Tindall, Queen Camilla and many other Royals for King Constantine’s memorial. This marks Fergie’s second high-profile Royal engagement in a short space of time. Sarah Ferguson was driven to the memorial by Prince Andrew.

King Constantine died on January 10, 2023, at the age of 83. King Constantine was Prince Philip’s first cousin once removed. This made King Constantine King Charles’ second cousin and the two were reportedly close.
