As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle navigate new life changes in the US, Doria has been their ‘rock’ and helped the couple with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland allegedly moves into Montecito

According to Daily Express, Doria has moved into one of the guesthouses on the grounds of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Californian mansion. This comes as she wanted to help the couple through the ‘tough times’ they faced last year.

It’s been a year since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have done any big projects - despite changing their talent management agency. The couple has lost deals and collaborations like Netflix and Spotify. The undisclosed source said:

2023 was a tough year for both Harry and Meghan and Doria has been there for them.
Doria looks fighting fit but she’s nearly 70 and gets tired of the car rides from her home to see her daughter and grandchildren.
It takes nearly three hours to drive one way, so it made sense for her to move into the guesthouse. She now spends more time there than in her own house.

Furthermore, it seems as though Prince Harry feels that the children should be close to their grandmother. The source revealed that craves for motherly affection and finds Doria’s presence ‘very refreshing.’ The source revealed:

Doria has basically become the mother of the household. Harry loves to be mothered so he finds Doria being there very refreshing.
Harry appreciates the warmth and kindness that Doria brings to the family.
He doesn’t get that from his side of the family and thinks it is important that the children are close with their grandmother.

The 70-year-old accompanied the family on their Christmas holiday in Costa Rica. Thus, she’s much closer to Prince Archie and Lilibet than the Royal Family - especially King Charles.

The children have not physically seen King Charles in a long time, and it remains unknown whether they keep in touch with their royal grandfather.

Where did Meghan Markle’s mother live before moving in with them?

Doria previously lived nearly a three-hour drive away from the Sussex couple View Park-Windsor Hills in Los Angeles. It is located between Culver City and Inglewood - east of Los Angeles International Airport. Her property is completely different from a typical LA pad and looks like it belongs to a holiday brochure, reports Hello! Magazine.

Photos of the exterior of the lime green house show it has a clay roof, a bay window and palm trees framing either side of the front walkway. Doria inherited the property from her father when he died in 2011 and is estimated to be worth £678,000.
