King Charles and a tell-all interview

King Charles could possibly sit down on camera with biographer and broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby to talk about the King’s upcoming coronation celebrations, but also perhaps raise the subject of Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir and the Sussexes docuseries.

For the moment, King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, who have borne the brunt of the Sussexes’ accusations, have remained silent.

However, rumours support the idea that Palace aides are considering the possibility of King Charles using this interview to ‘set the record straight’.

An insider told The Mirror:

It is not the done thing to avoid subjects in interviews, so it makes matters tricky. Even one small comment on Harry and Meghan would make worldwide news.

If the King does decide to open up on the matter in the interview, he would be going against the Royal Family motto to 'never complain and never explain.'

An invite despite the tension

According to The Sun, King Charles wants his youngest son, Prince Harry, at his coronation despite the bombshell accusations he made in his memoir Spare and the Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan.

The King allegedly asked the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, to mediate between himself and his son so Prince Harry could attend the celebrations. According to Mail Online, the role of the Archbishop of Canterbury has been to aid the Royal Family in navigating some of the ‘trickiest issues of the day’.

King Charles reportedly believes not having the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at his coronation will be a ‘greater distraction’ than if they were to attend. Thus it is believed the King is ‘prepared to make concessions’ in the hopes of persuading them to come. Concessions include ‘an informal assurance’ that the Duke and Duchess can keep their titles.
