In fact, when the King used to visit Wales, he would stay in his beloved Welsh home Llwynywermod, which he bought for £1.2 million. Since becoming Prince of Wales, William has made a few changes and it is believed that King Charles isn’t happy with his son’s choices.

So what changes has Prince William made that has King Charles ‘upset’?

Prince William to rent out Welsh home

As mentioned before, Prince William inherited the Prince of Wales title, and with the title, came the land and thus the home King Charles loves. Media reports that Prince William plans to rent out the Welsh home.

According to Daily Mail, the King’s beloved cottage will be available for rent starting in September. This means that if King Charles wants to use the cottage for a holiday, he would allegedly have to pay like any other person.

Prince William didn’t renew his father’s lease on the cottage, meaning that the King now has to move his belongings out of the home. According to reports, the cottage is priced at £2,400 a week.

One of the reasons Prince William decided to not renew the lease on the cottage is because he and Princess Kate would rather support local businesses during their visits to Wales and stay in B&Bs and holiday rentals.

King Charles allegedly ‘miffed’ about Prince William’s decision

King Charles would often spend a two-week holiday in Wales each summer and would stay at this Welsh cottage. When he was Prince of Wales, King Charles restored the cottage with the help of architect Craig Hamilton.

The cottage boasts three bedrooms and cost £1.2M and was bought through the Duchy of Cornwall in 2007.

A source told Daily Mail that King Charles was ‘disappointed’ and ‘miffed’ with William’s decision to not renew the lease.

The King was quite miffed but that was the deal. It means he can continue to stay there but he will pay rent to the Duchy and the rest of the time it will be rented out.

However, last month - June - it was announced that it was King Charles who had decided to give up his beloved Welsh home.
