This means that the royal couple don’t always follow traditions and this may be the case for their eldest son, Prince George’s education. Indeed, the Prince and Princess of Wales have an important decision to make soon concerning George’s future.

Prince William and Princess Kate will soon have to decide where to send Prince George to school, once he finishes his education at Lambrook School. One contender is Eton College, where several members of the Royal Family have attended, but the couple may be looking at Princess Kate’s old school.

Prince William and Princess Kate may not send George to Eton

A few months ago, Prince William and Princess Kate visited Eton College alongside their eldest son, Prince George. This led the media to speculate that Prince George would attend Eton, like his father.

However, according to Richard Eden, Princess Kate was spotted at her old school Marlborough College, back in October. Marlborough College welcomes students from the age of 13 to the age of 18 and now accepts both male and female students.

A source told Eden:

Catherine was here the other day. It's been the talk of the school.

Prince William and Princess Kate still have a while to decide where to send the future King of England as George is only 10 and is still attending Lambrook School in Berkshire.

Prince George would be the first king to go to a multi-sex school

If Prince William and Princess Kate decide to send Prince George to Kate’s old school, Prince George would be the ‘first sovereign in the 956 years’ to receive an education in a multi-sex school, explained royal commentator Daniela Elser in her column for news.com.au.

Elser also noted that if George goes to Marlborough College, it would be a ‘huge step for the monarchy’ and that the Prince and Princess of Wales would be doing their son a ‘huge service’.

Indeed, Elser believes that by the time young Prince George becomes King, the UK will be much more diverse and will come from ‘an incredibly varied range of ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds’.

How much is the tuition at Marlborough College?

as reported by Daily Mail, Princess Kate and Prince William may be serious about sending their eldest son, Prince George, to Marlborough College as the royal couple were spotted once again on the grounds, but this time with their son.

It is known that the Royal Family don't shy away from private schools and they tend to pay a massive amount of money for tuition. Indeed, for Lambrook School, where Prince George and Princess Charlotte currently attend, William and Kate are paying between £13,167 to £20,997 per year.

However, the tuition for Marlborough College is much steeper. If Prince William and Princess Kate send George to Kate's old school, they will be paying £ 47,000 a year.
