Prince Andrew could be facing eviction from his current home, Royal Lodge, which he shares with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. This comes after reports that King Charles decided to stop paying for Prince Andrew’s security at his home, which is estimated to cost him £3 million a year.

The Duke of York allegedly won’t go down without a fight and doesn’t want to leave Royal Lodge, located on Windsor Castle grounds. It is still unclear whether or not Prince Andrew will be forced to leave Royal Lodge as he has no income, but if he were to be evicted, where would he live?

According to The Telegraph, Prince Andrew could potentially have 9 options for a new home, but these are the most realistic options for the Duke of York.

Prince Andrew could live at Frogmore Cottage

One of the more obvious locations for Prince Andrew is Frogmore Cottage. The Duke of York has previously been offered the keys to Prince Harry and Meghan’s former home, but according to Daily Mail this would be a ‘demotion too far’.

If Prince Andrew moved to Frogmore Cottage, it would be a considerable downsize compared to Royal Lodge, which has 30 rooms.

Prince Andrew could live at St James’s Palace

According to The Telegraph, Prince Andrew's second most likely home would be St James’s Palace.

St James’s Palace is divided up into several apartments, housing several other members of the Royal Family, including Prince Andrew’s daughter, Princess Beatrice.

However, Prince Andrew may not welcome this option as he would be sharing the premises with several other members of his family and their staff.

Prince Andrew could live at Kensington Palace

Another option for the Duke of York is Kensington Palace, which used to be Prince William and Princess Kate’s home before they moved to Adelaide Cottage.

This could be a good choice for Prince Andrew as it was refurbished thanks to a huge public expense and now has no owner. Prince Andrew’s neighbours would be the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester as well as the Duke and Duchess of Kent, as per The Telegraph.

However, if Prince Andrew moved into Kensington Palace, he would not be downsizing his home, as King Charles hoped.

Prince Andrew could live at Sandringham

Prince Andrew could choose to live on Wood Farm, located on the Sandringham Estate. It has been left vacant since Prince Philip died in 2021, it is where he spent his retirement.

As per The Telegraph, Wood Farm is ‘quite remote and very ungrand – the perfect bolthole’, and it is also close to the coast. This would be a perfect choice for the Duke of York as it fits King Charles’ vision to force his brother to ‘downsize’ his lifestyle.

Moreover, Prince Andrew is no stranger to Wood Farm as it is where he stays for the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.
