This Christmas is King Charles’ second as Monarch. Last year’s Christmas was surrounded by grief as it had only been three months after Queen Elizabeth II had died. It is believed that the King is shaking things up this Christmas and the guest list will look different this year. However, not everyone is pleased with his decisions as the staff at Sandringham are allegedly ‘disgruntled’ over the guest list.

Who is invited to Christmas at Sandringham?

The guest list for Christmas at Sandringham hasn’t been officially announced to the public, but naturally, there are rumours about who could be attending.

This year, it is rumoured that Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson will be attending, but as per Express, the former couple will not be staying at Sandringham, but in the nearby cottage, Wood Farm Cottage and will be present for meals and church.

It has also been reported that Queen Camilla’s family will be present this year. Typically, Queen Camilla has had to choose whether to spend Christmas with her own family or Charles’. This year, she does not have to make that decision.

This means that her two children, Laura Lopes and Tom Parker Bowles will be present, with the Queen’s grandchildren. Indeed, Laura Lopes has three children, Eliza, and twin sons Gus and Louis, while Tom Parker Bowles has two children, Freddy Parker Bowles and Lola Parker Bowles.

Finally, it is rumoured that Prince Harry and Meghan have been invited but it isn’t clear whether they will come as the couple has missed the last 4 Christmasses with the Royal Family.

Why are royal staff ‘disgruntled’ over the Christmas guest list?

According to Express, the royal staff at Sandringham are ‘disgruntled’ over the bigger guest list for Christmas this year. Since King Charles is allegedly hosting Queen Camilla’s family, staff at the estate have reportedly been told to give up their rooms.

The staff at Sandringham have allegedly been told to ‘rough it’ in smaller quarters and to even ‘share rooms’ as per Daily Mail.

Daily Mail columnist, Ephraim Hardcastle said:

The King's decision to expand the guest list for Christmas at Sandringham hasn't been met with universal festive joy. Making space for Queen Camilla's children and grandchildren means that some staff are disgruntled.
