Megan Barton Hanson: The exotic dancer asked to get rid of her OnlyFans because Love Island is a ‘family show’

The 28-year-old webcam girl and exotic dancer, Megan Barton Hanson, recently appeared on the Smut Drop podcast with hosts Jackie Adedeji and Miranda Kane. While speaking on the show she expressed her annoyance at ITV, who allegedly forced her to get rid of her OnlyFans account ahead of appearing on the show.

It’s a family show

The former Love Islander claims that the channel didn’t want her to be active on her racy OnlyFans account if she appeared on the show. And while Megan despised the decision of getting off the adult platform, she had to do it as she wanted to be a part of the show. She told the Smut Drop listeners:

I had OnlyFans before Love Island but ITV told me it was a family show so I begrudgingly had to get rid of it.
I was annoyed as being on TV would have made me so much money on it. Now I just do topless on it rather than completely naked but I think it's a great platform.

She deleted it for the show back in 2018 and for a short time afterwards but she’s back on the platform now and posts x-rated content to her paying subscribers. She added:

I was worried to get it back but then I did talks across the country saying 'be proud of sex work' but I wasn't even on it anymore so I was being a hypocrite.
I love doing it and now I feel empowered even though TV producers told me not to do it.

Love is Love

Talking of the things that annoyed her about the ITV’s hit reality dating show, she also mentioned she had to hide her bisexuality. During her first audition for the show, she made the mistake of telling the producers that she’s into both men and women.

Naturally, she didn’t get a callback. But in the following season, she kept quiet about her bisexuality and eventually got the chance to star in the show. She added:

It was hard to keep my bisexuality quiet. The second time I auditioned they let me in when I hadn't mentioned to the producers that I liked girls.
