Being a woman in the public eye usually means that a lot of attention is paid to what you wear. Women of the British Royal Family know this probably more than any other royal in the world. Moreover, women in royal houses often become fashion icons. For instance, Lady Diana became one, to this day, 26 years after her death, some of her clothes are being sold for thousands of pounds.

But, while the British Royal Family has some very fashionable women, we must report that they aren’t the best dressed in the world. According to Erin Fitzpatrick, Associate Director of Fashion News at Who What Wear, who also has a TikTok account, that title belongs to two women who live very far away from the United Kingdom.

Queen Rania of Jordan

Rania Al-Yassin, now known as the Queen of Jordan, met Prince Abdullah bin Al-Hussein in January 1993 and in June of the same year the couple married. Together they have four children. Rania became Queen in March of 1999, a month after her husband inherited the throne.

For Fitzpatrick, Queen Rania is THE best dressed royal in the world. She explains:

She’s really good at finding classic pieces with a very fashionable twist.

Fitzpatrick specifically refers to a dress Queen Rania wore in 2017 for Independence Day which she calls 'genius.'

It also appears that Queen Rania is very detailed oriented and that even when she wears jeans she adds a little something.

Secondly, Erin Fitzpatrick points out that Queen Rania has a ‘very distance recognisable signature uniform’ which consists of ‘a blouse tucked into an a-line midi skirt.’ However, even though she is sticking to her signature look, Queen Rania has many variations of it, whether it’s the colours, patterns or textures.

The real best dressed royal

Erin Fitzgerald’s original TikTok in which she states that Queen Rania is the best dressed royal has been seen over 27,000 times and has collected hundreds of comments. In these, many disagreed with Fitzgerald and stated that the best dressed royal is none other than Sheikha Moza.

Wanting to please her audience Fitzgerald made another TikTok where she celebrates Sheikha Moza’s style. Fitzgerald starts by saying that Sheikha Moza is a big fan of European brands like Valentino and Chanel or even Jean-Paul Gauthier for a more daring approach.

What is truly fascinating about Sheikha Moza’s style is her ability to be daring and fashion forward while still reflecting her culture. Moreover, she is known to have an impressive jewellery collection with many pieces by Cartier.

Overall, Sheikha Moza is known for having impeccable style. In Vogue Arabia, Philippa Morgan and Nouriah Al Shatti write:

Her Royal Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned captures the essence of elegance through her colossal wardrobe of designer silhouettes. (...)
Sheikha Mozah makes major fashion moves in demure designs that she coordinates with her signature hijab turban.
