Prince William makes a small change to his military uniform

Prince William will be in full uniform on Saturday, with his red dress uniform and a bearskin cap. On the shoulder of his uniform, he has altered it slightly to pay tribute to his grandmother and father.

On his epaulette, he has embroidered his late grandmother’s royal cypher, as well as his father’s royal cypher. It is interesting to note that Prince William has not included Queen Camilla’s royal cypher on his uniform.

The meaning behind having both the late Queen's royal cypher and his father's cypher is that he has served as personal aide de camp to both monarchs. Indeed Prince William received the role in 2013 from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as reported by The Guardian.
