This Love Island star will be the first-ever contestant to go to I’m a Celeb this year

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! has signed up its first-ever Love Island star for the upcoming new series.

This move by the I’m a Celeb bosses to sign-up an ITV2 dating reality TV star would end a seven-year-long ban for the competitors on the ITV2 show being allowed to join the celebrity line-up in the jungle.

Series three star

Reportedly, Love Island star Olivia Attwood is set to take part in the new series of I’m a Celeb this autumn. The show will return to Australia this year for the first time after the pandemic and Olivia – who rose to fame in series 3 – will be the first Love Islander ever in the history of the show.

A TV insider told The Sun:

This is a sign that the dating favourite is now so big and produces figures with such high profiles that they can no longer be dismissed.
Olivia is already viewed as a rising star on ITV and this is likely to serve as a launchpad for potentially fronting more mainstream shows with the broadcaster.

Always wanted it

Mirror confirms that the 31-year-old former Love Island star had previously admitted that she was keen on trying her luck in the jungle. Olivia previously said:

I'd love to do the jungle. I'd give Dancing on Ice a go, although it does scare me. I'm a bit of a baby, so I don't like getting hurt.
I feel like the minute I fall over once, I'd be done. I know it sounds dramatic, but I'm just a bit like that. For me, the jungle is less scary. So I'd love to do the jungle.

She had already gone through the bushtucker trials when she appeared as a special guest on the I'm A Celebrity’s spin-off programme – Extra Camp. She successfully devoured fish eyeballs and animal testicles and was made to eat sheep brains.
