On 6 July 2023, the Daily Mail published pictures of Sharon Osbourne while she was on a shopping trip. The woman, who is now 70, was seen looking vastly different.

In an interview on The Talk, Osbourne shared her weight loss experience which wasn’t traditional in any way. Indeed, like other celebrities lately such as Boris Johnson or even Elon Musk, Osbourne chose to use WeGovy injections.

Let’s see how the weight loss impacted the star and what are the side effects of the efficient injections.

Sharon Osbourne’s weight loss journey

Recently, pictures of Sharon Osbourne were released, showing the star’s significant weight loss. When the pictures came out fans commented on the woman’s drastic change.

One Twitter user expressed concern saying:

SHARON!! Are you sick again? I hope 🤞not. Love You and to all your Family ❤️🙏❤️

While another said:

Her face looks collapsed

The change is so significant that the star addressed it herself. The Daily Mail reports that while she was on The Talk the star said:

I took it for four months and I lost 30 pounds, but like everything, there’s always no quick recipe

The 30 pound loss was done over 4 months during which she took several WeGovy injections. While Sharon Osbourne seems happy with the results she’s achieved she does say that the process of the injections wasn’t smooth sailing.

She says:

I was very sick for a couple of months. The first couple of months, I just felt nauseous. Every day I felt nauseous, my stomach was upset, whatever.

She now shares that she hasn’t gained any weight back and is able to eat normally.

The WeGovy treatment she underwent isn’t the only weight loss technique Osbourne tried. The Daily Mail reports that ‘in 1999, she underwent gastric bypass surgery.’ Osbourne later expressed regret over that surgery and in 2006 she had the surgery reversed.

What are the health risks of WeGovy?

WeGovy injections are trendy right now among celebrities. As stated before, Sharon Osbourne isn’t the only one who has chosen the injections to help with weight loss.

When Sharon Osbourne shared her experience with the injections, she also issued an honest warning.

She said that she was ‘very sick’ and she ‘felt nauseous’ everyday. But there are other, more serious, side effects which the WeGovy website lists.

At the very top of the very long list is ‘thyroid tumors including cancer.’ The company shares that while they were testing on rodents, cases of cancers appeared in ‘Wegovy and medicines that work like Wegovy’.

Other serious side effects include ‘pancreatitis, gallbladder problems’ and ‘kidney failure.’

As well as physical side effects, people taking these injections, including Sharon Osbourne, put themselves at risk for ‘depression or thoughts of suicide.
