Phillip Schofield has been in the middle of a scandal since the end of May 2023. At the time it was revealed that the This Morninghost and ITV star had had an affair with a member of staff that he met while he was underage.

Following the revelations, Phillip Schofield stepped down from This Morning and from ITV altogether. His co-host, Holly Willoughby, golden girl of the network was also swooped into the scandal. When it was revealed, she took a week off and came back with a controversial apology that left viewers unimpressed.

Since Schofield stepped down, Willoughby has been seen on air with several hosts trying to fill in the missing spot but no one has gotten the job yet. Phillip Schofield, on the other hand, has been very discreet, staying away from the spotlight.

But new rumours are now going around and the two might be reunited once again.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby’s feud

It is now public knowledge that Phillip Schofield and Holly Willougby have not had the best 2023. In June 2023, after months of fans noticing a drop in chemistry between the This Morning hosts, Phillip Schoffield resigned from the channel after leaving the show on 20 May.

Not long after that he admitted to having ‘concealed a relationship with a much younger man who also worked on This Morning.’ In an interview he admitted to the relationship but denied any rumour of ‘grooming.’ He stated that the relationship was ‘unwise, but not illegal.

While this was unfolding and Schofield had to leave his entire career behind, Holly Willoughby was surprisingly quiet. Not only that, she took a whole week off air forcing ITV to find a replacement. When she came back to the show, she barely addressed the scandal and had no word for her former co-host.

For years, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were reportedly very good friends. However, it is believed that the relationship between the two started to strain after Queen Elizabeth’s death. Indeed, the two presenters were caught in a scandal as they were seen to skip the 20 hour long queue to view the Queen’s casket.

Moreover, the feud was also about Phillip Schofield keeping information from Holly Willoughby. For instance, Schofield did not tell her about his brother’s trial in which he was found guilty of sexually abusing a boy.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby reunited?

After a few months of the two not acknowledging each other, rumours are flying that they could be reunited. Indeed, in June 2023, The Mirror released an article about Holly Willoughby’ next move.

In their article they write that the BBC could be trying to ‘to recruit Holly Willoughby for Strictly Come Dancing

While Willoughby hasn’t commented on the rumour, her quiet summer exit from The Morning has caused viewers to wonder if she will be back in September.

Now, in July 2023, as the new season of Strictly Come Dancing approaches, rumours about the line up are growing. Earlier this week, it was released that Angela Rippon might be joining the show, becoming the oldest contestant ever. And on 19 July, Yorkshire Live alleges that Phillip Schofield could join the show after being ‘on the hot list’ for many years.

If he does join the show and if Holly accepts to host the new season, the two might be reunited. How do you think it would go?
