Schofield has since been replaced by Dermot O’Leary on This Morning. So far, it hasn’t been revealed what will happen to ITV’s Dancing on Ice, but Willoughby’s alleged next career move could also involve dancing!

However, the rumours concerning her potential career change haven’t been sitting well with fans. Indeed an insider has claimed that the BBC is looking at hiring Holly Willoughby to host Strictly Come Dancing.

The popular BBC show is currently hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman and has over 7 million viewers per episode, according to Daily Mail. An insider has revealed that the BBC‘have been plotting’ to get Holly Willoughby, ‘the golden goose’ to switch channels.

Holly is the golden goose. BBC bosses want her and they have been plotting for some time to get her for their big shows.

The insider explained that at the moment, there is no real plan put in place to get Willoughby to switch, but they think that Strictly is the perfect show:

They know how popular she is, but it also has to be the right programme. Recently there has been talk around the BBC that Strictly would be a way to lure her over.
There are ideas of how she could slot in – nobody is quite sure about that yet but they think she would be perfect.

Strictly fans have threatened to boycott

Entertainment Daily launched a discussion after the rumour started circulating to see what fans thought of the potential change in hosts. It would seem that many Strictly fans aren’t pleased with the rumours and don’t want the show to change.

One person wrote:

If it ain't broke don't fix it!

While others threatened to not watch the show if Holly Willoughby is on it:

I love watching Strictly but if she is on it, I won’t be watching.
Let’s hope not. Think Strictly will go downhill with her anywhere near it!
I have watched Strictly from the very beginning, but if she joins I won’t be watching again. Don’t understand why people [at] the BBC think she is so special. That is what they want to spend all our TV licenses on!
