Molly-Mae reveals she's recovering from an 'intense' illness

Molly-Mae Hague took to her Instagram account to explain her mini hiatus from social media revealing she caught a mystery illness following trip to Mexico.

The Love Island star was forced to take some time off from her socials to slowly recover from a mystery illness after coming back from her much anticipated trip to Tulum.

'It was really intense'

While boxing champ boyfriend, Tommy Fury, was training in Dubai, the 22-year-old PrettyLittleThing creative director took a trip down to Mexico with friend Stephanie Lam. Hague explained she was shooting the latest campaign for her fake tan brand, Filter By Molly-Mae.

In an Instagram story she most recently posted, she explained that the trip ended up having to be extended which is why she was absent from her social media longer than usual. But that wasn't the only thing holding her back, Hague also revealed having caught an 'intense' illness that left her unable to interact with her followers on her social media accounts. She said:

Hey guys how are we all doing? I feel like I've not come on here for so long. Obviously I've been away for work and I ended up extending my trip. It feels so nice to be home, but I have been recovering from.. I think it was just a bug. It was really intense.

Before adding:

I'm definitely on the road to recovery now. I'm feeling a little better today.

Are there other reasons for Molly-Mae being M.I.A?

Perhaps Molly-Mae also had other motives for not posting as much as she usually does. At the onset of the war in Ukraine, Molly-Mae had expressed feeling uneasy about posting on social media as she regularly would given the heavy circumstances. She explained:

Given everything that's happening in the world right now I feel it's impossible to carry on with life as normal without feeling guilty.

And added:

I'm currently away for work shooting a campaign but haven't known whether to share as usual for the people that come on Instagram to escape.

She asked her followers if they preferred she not post for a while, until things would settle down a little bit but they ultimately said they would rather her post her usual content as an outlet to escape.
