“It’s been a difficult time for me” as Julia quietly unfollows Lorenzo after Love Island split

The public break-up of Julia Majchrzak and Lorenzo Alessi, two Love Island winners, has fuelled online chatter and left fans reeling. As their relationship hits the spotlight and emotions run high, the social media drama refuses to quiet down.

One day you’re riding the wave of reality TV love, and next, it’s all over—very publicly. Julia Majchrzak, 26, recently confirmed her split from Lorenzo Alessi, the Londoner who won season 13 of Love Island alongside her. Since their exit from the iconic villa, the pair has struggled with life’s pressures beyond the cameras. But their latest Instagram moves and heartfelt interviews show that even when the reality show ends, the drama is far from finished. So, what really happened between Julia and Lorenzo once the cameras stopped rolling?

The pressure after Love Island: Julia speaks out

When the glitter settled and real life returned, Julia and Lorenzo quickly realised life outside the villa is a different game. Julia spoke candidly to Polish publication Super Express, admitting she felt “a little heartbroken” after the split.

While life on Love Island was filled with laughter and connection, she confessed, “We got on really well” but also recognised:

“it wasn’t real life”.

Navigating fame and relationship stress, Julia shared:

“We tried to figure it all out together. It's just that it feels like there's pressure and stress around all of it. And yeah, we really decided that maybe it's simply time to part ways, and, for now, go down our separate paths.”

Lorenzo’s response and the Instagram ‘unfollow’

Lorenzo chose Instagram to share his side on 13 September, posting three photos—two with Julia from the National Television Awards just days earlier and one solo shot. His caption set the tone:

“It’s been a difficult time for me to process the end of this chapter.”

Displaying gratitude for their time together, he wrote:

“I’m incredibly grateful for what was an amazing summer with beautiful memories and wish nothing but the best for Julia moving forward. We shared such an unforgettable experience, filled with so many moments that I will cherish forever.”

He added:

“The two of us went on this rollercoaster of a journey together, the fun, the endless laughter, joy and everything in between. It was a special time in my life, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

Yet, despite the thoughtful words, the reaction online was swift. Some followers of Julia found Lorenzo’s tone less personal than hers. The contrast was made even starker when Julia, after his post, unfollowed him on Instagram—the ultimate 2026 signal that things are truly over. In his sign-off, Lorenzo saluted the past and their shared supporters:

“who made this an experience of a lifetime,” and “I loved every second. And thank you all for the love and support, it has been genuinely overwhelming and means more to me than I can put into words.”

Wrapping up, he added:

“Here’s to the memories, the madness and the amazing adventures ahead.”

Public reaction: Split sparks debate among fans

As their news circulated, fans found themselves analysing every post and interview. While Julia’s emotional honesty won her an especially enthusiastic backing, some felt Lorenzo’s approach was too polished. Is this just the nature of Love Island romances—intense, public, and always open for interpretation? For now, it seems both Julia and Lorenzo are keen to close this chapter—separately. If you’re curious, season 13 is still on ITVX—but their real-life journey has, for now, gone offline.
