As well as starring in the movie, the Suicide Squad star will be co-producing the live-action reboot - which means the actress will be pitching her own creativity into the mix. Putting their heads together, Warner Bros have closed a deal with grand-scale toy manufacturing company, Mattel, who were the very creators of the Barbie doll.
And it seems Margot herself is just as excited as we are about the announcement: “Over the brand’s almost 60 years, Barbie has empowered kids to imagine themselves in aspirational roles from a princess to president," she explains proudly. "I’m so honoured to take on this role and produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide.”
Whilst the film in the making is still facing its early days and, more importantly, is still in need of a Ken, Warner Bros producers have high hopes for Robbie's portrayal of Barbie.
