In the wake of Caroline Flacks passing a lot of the people that knew her have been processing the news in their own way. Her ex Danny Cipriani, an English rugby player shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation he had with Caroline just before her passing.
In the conversation, she refers to Danny as 'black dot' an affectionate nickname she had for him and responded to his previous texts stating she was 'ok', she then went on to ask the sportsman how he was. Danny replied:
"Haha. You look gorgeous in your pic"
"I'm well. Navigating my way through an industry which has never suited me. But... I'm still being great"
"Why you just ok? Want you smiling"
To which Caroline replied: "Well got a court case coming up"
Prior to the screenshot of the convo, Danny had a black picture with two handles tagged. One being his Rugby club's official account and the other the Samaritanscharity handle, a suicide prevention hotline and charity.
Danny himself had struggled with depression and even suicidal thoughts in the past. He even posted an 18-minute long video on Instagram last week discussing his previous experiences and ongoing battles.
He goes on to say that discussing the situation is part of his grieving process: "This is my grieving process. Which is talking. A lot. Which my friends and family and teammates have had to take this last 10 days because I'm grieving. And I'm grieving hard. Hence I'm talking a lot."
If you ever feel like you need to talk to someone Samaritans (116 123) operates a 24-hour service 365 days a year. You can even email them at email@example.com if you would prefer to write out your feelings and have a conversation that way.
