Hair mask for dry hair

You know you have dry hair if your hair is really fragile. Since your hair breaks easily, you will most likely have lots of split ends, be they visible or not. But to soften up your hair, there is an effective home recipe that you can try using avocado and oil.

Take a well-matured avocado and mix the flesh with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and you will have a creamy mixture that you should then apply to damp hair after you have washed it. Let the hair mask sit for around 30 minutes (or a few hours if you have time), and then wash it off with clean water and then apply a special shampoo designed for dry hair to finish it off.

Hair mask for oily hair

Hair becomes and looks oily when the scalp’s glands are producing too much sebum. To avoid feeling like you have to wash your hair every day (which, by the way, only dries out the scalp more - ergo stimulating the scalp to produce even more sebum), you can make your own mask out of green or pink clay. Healing Earth is known for its positive properties in preventing excess sebum, both for oily skin and oily hair.

To make your own beneficial hair mask, you will need 3 tablespoons of Healing Earth mixed with 1-2 tablespoons of water. Stir until you have a viscous creamy mixture and then apply to your scalp. Leave this on for 15-20 minutes, rinse with clean water and then wash your hair normally afterwards.

Hair mask for broken hair

Broken hair is like dry hair, it lacks moisture more than anything else. Argan oil, which is also good for fragile, curly hair, is perfect. To make your own hair mask using this oil, you will need to mix together 3 tablespoons of argan oil with one egg yolk and a tablespoon of honey until you have a creamy paste.

Apply the mask to your hair and leave it on for at least 20 to 30 minutes. The key here is the longer you leave the mask on, the more time your hair has to absorb the beneficial properties. Afterwards, rinse your hair with plenty of water and wash thoroughly with shampoo.

Hair mask for frizzy hair

Frizzy curls or frizzy hair can always be tamed if you know how to care for it. Hair like this is extremely demanding and requires daily hydration and a weekly hair mask to keep it looking nice. If you fancy making your own, you should make one with honey because of its rich and nutritional properties.

Our hair mask recipe calls for 5 tablespoons of lukewarm water, 3 tablespoons of olive oil and 5 tablespoons of honey. Mix all the ingredients together well and then apply it to wet hair. Then wrap your hair in cling film and tie a warm towel around your head. Leave it to work its magic for about an hour. The heat activates the ingredients in the mask and encourages your hair to absorb all the nutrients. When the hour is up, wash the hair mask out thoroughly and then shampoo your hair as you normally would afterwards.

Hair mask for normal hair

Even normal hair needs a treat once or twice a week and this is very simple to do yourself at home. Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil in the microwave, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and apply the whole mixture to your hair after you have washed it. Then, rinse your hair with clean water.
