This Swiss Company Has Sparked Outrage After Dressing Animals In BDSM Outfits

A Swiss animal welfare association has published a shock awareness campaign, featuring animals in sadomasochistic costumes. Their goal: to raise awareness of the suffering we put animals through.

To alert the public to animal suffering, animal protection organizations have been increasingly inventive in their awareness campaigns and often resort to shock tactics. This is what Swiss association "Tier Im Recht" chose to do.

This Zurich-based foundation (whose name means "animals in the law") launched a shocking campaign, featuring animals in leather costumes that recall the sexual practices of domination and sadomasochism. Below the images, you can read the caption "no animal takes pleasure in suffering".

Making an impression

For this campaign, Tier Im Recht collaborated for the fourth time with an advertising agency that worked on this project for free. The foundation fully recognizes the choice of sexual imagery and embraces the shocking aspect of the images.

"Unlike humans, animals never have the opportunity to consent to an act of torture. On the contrary, they are at our mercy and can not defend themselves," they explain on their website.
