As for baby names that will be popular in 2023, the experts of Nameberry published a list of names that will most likely be among parents’ favourites. According to them, baby names that will dominate 2023 will be much less frequently used than they were generations ago, meaning that the name pool is getting more diverse:

This is great news if you want to use a popular name because your child is unlikely to have more than one other child in their class with their name. Similarly, if you are drawn to more unusual names, it’s become much more societally accepted to give your child a unique or unfamiliar name.

1. Maximalist names

Blame it on Bridgeton or The Witcher, but maximalist, old-money, and dark academia-inspired names are here to stay. This includes names such as Ambrosia, Wolfgang, Cassiopeia, etc.

2. Names so ‘out,’ they’re ‘in’

Think of ‘80s pop-culture names such as Chrissy, Marty, Penny, or Dallas.

3. Gilded names

Not Met Gala inspired, but names that emit a bright feel or a real-life sunshine vibe such as Apollo, Golden, Marigold, Soleil.

4. Neo-cowboy names

Howdy! The category is pretty self-explanatory and it includes names such as Foster, Hawkins, and Wilder.

5. Traveling lite names

While maximalism is in, a lot of parents will still stick to a simpler approach, going for easy-to-pronounce names such as Kali, Nori, Rafi, 'Stormi baby!' etc.

6. X-tra names

Not as in Grimes and Elon Musk’s baby X, but names ending in X or having an X in the middle such as Bronx, Felix, Maxine, and Rex.

Not to play favourites, but I am a sucker for Bridgerton and everything dark-academia inspired. What about you?
