At the origin of this challenge is a post from a young woman, Aaryn Whitley. The latter posted several photos on Twitter accompanied by this message: ‘Ladies..... Do you also have a freckle on the middle of your wrist or is this a myth?’
A common quirk
Aaryn might have thought she was crazy for a moment, but many responses to her publication reinforced her suspicions. It would indeed seem that many women (not all) have this surprising little detail, which is the case within the editorial staff as well (yes, we investigated!).
Myth or reality?
This common point - surprising as it may be - does not only concern women. Men too can have this freckle on their wrists, and its presence can be scientifically explained. Indeed, the forearms are one of the most exposed parts of the body to the sun, which can lead to the appearance of several small freckles.
But be careful, even if the moles are cute and this common point is quite funny, it is important to wear sunscreen. Indeed, you should always keep an eye on moles and freckles. If in doubt, show them to a dermatologist.
