Real-Life Harry Potter: Why This Girl Lives In A Cupboard

Seven-year-old Aalayiah Baker is forced to sleep in a cupboard at her home in Hull.

Leah Edwards is desperate to find a new home for her family-of-six as their tiny council house means daughter Aalayiah has to sleep in a cupboard.

Partner Tom, Leah and their four children aged between one and 13 are squeezed into a tiny two-bedroom house. The three boys share one of the rooms whilst the parents have another, leaving a makeshift room that used to be a cupboard for Aalayiah.

The tight living quarters lead to arguments and stress for all of the family.

The family have agreed to an exchange with another tenant who lives in a five-bedroom house nearby but have to wait for a surveyor to visit the house before they're allowed to move out.
