Xi Jinping: Chinese President's 'mysterious' daughter allegedly studies in US, here's what we know

While China is a communist country, Xi Jinping’s daughter has apparently been studying both undergraduate and graduate studies at Harvard under a pseudonym.

The daughter of Xi Jinping has, according to reports, been pursuing a world class higher education at Harvard University, TaiwanNews reports.

The secretive profile of China’s first daughter

Xi Mingzhe, is the only child of Xi Jinping, the President of the People's Republic of China, and his second wife, the celebrity soprano, Peng Liyuan. Little is known about China's first daughter, as her life is shrouded in mystery and is confined away from public scrutiny.

Reportedly she was born on June 25, 1992 in Fuzhou and later studied French at her high school, Hangzhou Foreign Language School. First she enrolled at Zhejiang University, and then she was transferred to Harvard University under a pseudonym in 2010, The New Yorkerreports.

Back in February, the US Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler, from the 4th District of Missouri, alleged that Xi Mingzhe, completed her bachelor studies at Harvard in 2014, and then went back to Beijing for a short while, only to return to the US to pursue her graduate studies again at Harvard, TaiwanNews reports.

Pursuing an education in the US

What was largely unknown to the public, the Congresswoman Hartzler revealed candidly about Xi Minghze’s studies. This while presenting her legislation ‘Protecting Higher Education from the Chinese Communist Party Act’ which would ban members of the National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and their relatives from obtaining student or research visas in the US.

According to The NewYorker, during Xi Mingzhe’s undergraduate studiesonly tenfaculty members at Harvardknew her real identity.

The congresswoman claims that more than 317,000 students from China, including family members of CCP officials, were obtaining an education in the U.S. during the 2020/2021 academic year, including Xi Mingzhe.
