Ekaterina Gubareva a Russia-installed Kherson Official has been missing since Tuesday afternoon according to her husband, Newsweek reports.

Meanwhile reports now suggest that Gubareva was involved in embezzling funds and as a result, she has been detained by the pro-Russian policy in the city of Donetsk.

The husband’s notice

Pavel Gubareva, the husband of Ekaterina Gubaereva reported on Wednesday via his Telegram channelthat his wife has been missing since Tuesday afternoon, saying she has vanished without a trace.

‘Yesterday around 4:30 p.m. my wife Katerina Gubareva disappeared and has not been in touch since then. The last place she was seen was the government building in the Kherson region in Genichesk. Attempts to call Saldo to find out Yekaterina's whereabouts have been fruitless so far.’

Just days after the Russian retreat from the Ukrainian city of Kherson, the pro-Russian Military-Civilian Administrationfled to the town of Genichesk to conduct their business.

Gubareva has been serving as the deputy head of this Russian collaborationist administration. Mirror reports that she was a 'loyalist' who was also sanctioned by the EU.

Now reports are emerging that Gubareva was under investigation by Russian authorities and has reportedly been detained by the police in the city of Donetsk for allegedly embezzling up to 60 million rubbles or close to $1 million in funds.

The ‘Beware the News’ Telegram channel has claimed, citing a source in the ‘regional government’, that Gubareva was sacked from her position in the Kherson pro-Russian government and even tried to move to Moscow to find another job.

‘Gubareva was initially suspended, after which she went to Moscow and tried to change jobs. But in the end she was detained.’
