Vouchers for food and essentials

Depending on where you live you could benefit from even more—your exact location and what your council has agreed upon will determine the sum of the voucher you are entitled to. For families residing in Essex County Council's catchment area, an €80 supermarket voucher is what you can expect.

In order to be eligible you must be 66 years of age or older—the minimum age for state pension—by 30 September 2022 and claim a means-tested benefit. There are two ways in which you can benefit from this help: either as a one-off payment, or as a food voucher. You must also be prepared to provide the necessary documentation to prove your financial situation such as pay slips or any benefit payments you receive.

How to apply?

In order to be able to take advantage of the Household Support Fund, you will have to directly inquire with your local council as each of them will vary in the application process. To find out who your local council is, visit the gov.uk authority checker tool.
