Now, Kim Jong-un has made a change to the country’s constitution that indicates his terrifying plans for the country’s arsenal.

Kim Jong-un’s change to the constitution

The North Korean supreme leader has amended the country’s constitution to add a new clause about nuclear weapons. This move was reported by The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). The agency explained that Kim wants North Korea to join a collective of nations in a ‘new cold war’ against the US:

The amendment was universally approved by the State People’s Assembly and will ‘ensure the country’s right to existence and development, deter war and protect regional and global peace by rapidly developing nuclear weapons to a higher level’.

The countries Kim Jong-un is threatening

The North Korean leader expressed his desire to ‘push ahead with the work for exponentially boosting the production of nuclear weapons and diversifying the nuclear strike means’.

He went on to name three countries that create, in his eyes, a threat: the United States, South Korea and Japan. The supreme leader considers this group of nations to be the ‘Asian version of NATO’ which he sees as ‘the root cause of war and aggression’.

Kim Jong-un stated that North Korea’s ‘nuclear force-building policy has been made permanent as the basic law of the state, which no one is allowed to flout with anything’.
