The storm was officially named Storm Debi yesterday, which comes while Britain is still recovering from the aftermath of Storm Ciaran.

Here are all the warnings that have been listed by the Met Office for today.

Yellow warning

Northeast Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England and parts of Wales have been given a yellow weather warning, which means that they will be dealing with persistent rain which started from 4 AM in some areas. The Met Office has stated that the rain could then lead to travel disruption, including the delay or cancellations of flights, trains, and ferry services.

Furthermore, flooding could also be caused by the persistent showers. They added:

Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

Amber warning

The weather is expected to be more chaotic in northwest England and southeast Northern Ireland, where strong and disruptive winds are expected. Moreover, residents of these areas should be careful as a 'danger to life' warning has been given over 'flying debris'.

Moreover, in coastal areas, the Met Office has stated that danger to life could also come from:

Large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and properties.

When will the bad weather subside?

Fortunately, the first wave of bad weather brought on by Storm Debi is going to be short-lived. It has been building up over the weekend, but is expected to clear within the day itself.

The Met Office said in a statement, as quoted by GB News:

Storm Debi is expected to develop over Ireland on Sunday night and clear eastward during Monday.

No weather warnings have been issued for the rest of the week yet.
