What’s hidden in the Toblerone logo?

Toblerone packets are pyramid-shaped usually with a golden yellow packaging and the name of the chocolate is written in red letters. On the left side of the packet, is the image of a mountain peak.

A woman Tweeted about a discovery her son made, where he pointed out to her that the Toblerone logo actually contains a bear.

She writes in her Tweet,

My son had his first Toblerone today. “What’s the bear for?”
Me: “what bear?”
I was today years old when I found out there’s a bear in the Toblerone logo.

The bear can be seen in the logo hidden within the image of the mountain. Other people were equally shocked to discover this.

The reason for the bear

The bear on the packet is hidden within the outline of the mountain. As reported by 1000logosnet, Toblerone was first established in 1908 in Switzerland. The mountain in the image is believed to be a homage to the Matterhorn mountains in the Swiss Alps.

The reason for having a bear is because the chocolate was created in the city of Bern in Switzerland, which is also called ‘the city of bears.’ Thus, bears are a symbol of Bern, even appearing in the city’s coat of arms. Toblerone, therefore, pays tribute to its city of birth through its logo.
