One couple changed the name of their 3-month-old daughter for a surprising reason
The Kessler family, who are living in the United States, changed their daughter's name after regretting their first choice.
After weeks of hesitation, American mum Carri Kessler and her husband Michael decided to call their little daughter Ottilie, after a British friend. It’s an uncommon name but there's nothing particularly offensive about it.
However, the problem is that in the United States, nobody was able to pronounce Ottilie, Carri stated:
No one could remember it and no one could pronounce it. I was like, "If you say it with a British accent, it sounds really good!” And people said, “But you’re from Maryland."
The realisation came when the little girl’s grandmother admitted she could never remember the name. The Kesslers realised their mistake and decided to change their daughter’s name three months after her birth. Carri explained:
‘We just sent out a mass email which said: ‘Hey! Remember Ottilie? Her name’s Margot now,’
