Queen finally breaks silence following accusations of racism

The world is watching the Royal Family's every move following the explosive interview in which the Duke and Duchesse of Sussex expose them for racism. After being pinned against a wall by the media time and time again, Meghan Markle explains how her mental health was deteriorating so fast that she even considered taking her own life to escape:

I just didn't want to be alive any more. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought. And I remember how he [Harry] just cradled me.

'An institution that was founded on racism'

She also revealed how her and baby Archie were subjected to blatant racism by an unnamed member in the high ranks of the Royal Family which prompted an outpour of criticism by the public. Social media, in particular, was quick to defend Markle and attack what has now been described as 'an institution that was founded on racism' by many.

And now, Queen Elizabeth II has broken her silence and addressed the public in a statement released by Buckingham Palace in which she expresses sadness and concern over the serious allegations:

The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

And concluded by saying that:

Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.

The public is demanding an investigation

Pressure is now rapidly building for a formal investigation to take place at Buckingham Palace to get to the bottom of the allegations.

Members of the public were saying that if an investigation is taking place over Meghan Markle's alleged bullying behaviour towards Royal Family staff, then there is more than enough to warrant the same course of action to be taken following Markle's accusations.
