Royal aide reveals Prince William's changed since Queen died and it could have a big impact on monarchy

The US and the British monarchy have a long standing relationship and history. No need to go very far back to see it. Just in 2020, Prince Harry chose the country to be his safe haven when he stepped down as a senior member of the Royal Family.

Now, while Prince William hasn’t established residence there, the heir to the throne is currently on an official visit in New York to attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit. This visit to the US will only last two days but a royal aide has revealed that Prince William may have other plans…

From the Duke of Cambridge to the Prince of Wales

Since the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William has had a step up within the Royal Family. Indeed, he inherited the title of Prince of Wales, the title belonging to the heir to the throne.

This new title also means that Prince William now has to start establishing what kind of monarch he means to be, showing what causes matter to him. His father, now King Charles III, was known for his involvement concerning ecological matters.

As Prince of Wales, Prince William also has a key role within the Commonwealth and internationally which explains his current visit to the US. As King, he will have to meet and deal with world leaders and, within the last few months, we have seen more of him doing just that.

The royal aide said:

You’ve started to see this evolution over the last six months, whether it be him sitting down with President Biden in Boston in November, or heading to the Ukrainian border to meet with British troops.

Earlier in 2023, Prince William also made a surprise visit to Poland to meet with ‘President Andrzej Duda as well as troops stationed near the border with Ukraine and refugees displaced by the Russian invasion.’

Prince William’s popularity in the US

The international work seen from Prince William since Queen Elizabeth II died, seems to have paid off. In a poll released on 9 August 2023 by Gallup, Prince William stands at the top with most Americans ‘favorable’ to him as a public figure.

This poll also reveals that Prince William is more popular than his own father in the US and even more popular than Joe Biden or Donald Trump. This trip to New York comes a mere month after the result of that poll and it is no coincidence.

Prince William will not only be attending Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit but he will also sit down with ‘the UN Secretary-General and other world leaders…’ reports CNN. According to CNN’s source, the royal aide, this is the beginning of Prince William establishing himself as a ‘global statesman.’

Is that what Prince William plans for his reign?
