Prince Harry’s memoir promised to be ‘raw’ and ‘unflinching’, which it is so far living up to expectations with excerpts of the leaked Spanish translation making it into mainstream media. However, some are less than impressed with Prince Harry’s unabashed honesty.

Prince Harry and Caroline Flack’s romance

According to Prince Harry, he and Caroline were introduced in 2009by a mutual friend shortly after Prince Harry’s breakup with his former girlfriend Chelsea Davy.

He described the former Love Island presenter as ‘funny’, ‘sweet’ and ‘cool’. According to the Duke of Sussex, Caroline wasn’t surprised that he didn’t recognise her.

Prince Harry claimed:

She didn’t have a big ego.

However, the fledgling relationship never got its chance to fly as the paparazzi soon got hold of the story. Prince Harry claims 'a mob was camped outside Flack’s parents' house, and all her friends' houses, and her grandparent's house'.

Prince Harry recalls with disdain how the British media dubbed Caroline as his ‘bit of rough’. Caroline touched on it in her 2014 memoir, Storm in a C Cup.

Caroline wrote:

Once the story got out, that was it. We had to stop seeing each other. I was no longer Caroline Flack, TV Presenter, I was Caroline Flack, Prince Harry’s bit of rough.

‘As if he has any idea’

Prince Harry doesn’t stop at simply recalling his relationship with the late TV presenter; he also discusses his feelings when he found out about her tragic passing.

He stated that he ‘felt so awful’ for her family, knowing they ‘all suffered’ because Caroline decided to date him. According to him, when they met, Caroline was ‘so light and funny’, ‘the definition of carefree’.

Prince Harry seems to blame the media for Caroline ending her life:

She couldn’t stand it anymore, apparently. The relentless abuse at the hands of the press, year after year, had finally broken her.

Caroline’s agent, Alex Mullen, has slammed Prince Harry for bringing up ‘such private details’ about her.

In an Instagram post, he wrote:

It’s disgusting he’s brought up old long forgotten slurs she had to suffer in full view of the public around the world.

He also accuses Prince Harry of the same thing Prince Harry accused Prince William: ‘parroting the media reports as if they were reality’ because it assists his narrative.

In another post, Mullen wrote:

For Harry to make an assumption that the press was the cause for the tragedy is a guess at most, however well that idea might further one’s agenda.
