Is everything well?

Only the newly made Prince and Princess of Wales were supposed to meet the public by 4.30 pm but the walkabout was delayed until 5.15pm so that Prince Harry and Meghan could also be included. While the four were inspecting flowers, everything seemed hunky-dory and Prince William’s olive branch was accepted less than an hour before the four walked out together.

However, sources have claimed that William and Kate cannot move on from the rift until the Duke and Duchess of Sussex accept that they have caused harm and hurt people. The Sun confirms that royal sources have claimed they need to own up to their mistakes. A royal source confirmed:

They feel they’ve had to be steely to send a message that you cannot just say this hugely upsetting stuff without there being consequences.

Mirror reported that the two brothers may have struck a truce but there’s no trust left between the two. Royal sources added:

It’s really hard to spend time with someone, or even to speak openly, when you know they’re writing a book about you and giving interviews. The trust is gone right now.

Father’s love

Apart from Prince William extending the olive branch to his brother, King Charles III has also made sure to include the Sussex couple in everything that he does. The royal source confirmed:

It’s simply not the King’s style to do anything that would alienate either of his children. He loves them both deeply and has been devastated by everything that has happened.

Harry and Meghan also took part in Wednesday’s royal procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, despite being non-working royal family members.
