Prince Andrew won’t leave Royal Lodge
Reportedly, Prince Andrew was given the keys to Frogmore Cottage recently and the shifting is expected to be done by this summer. However, an insider has confirmed that Prince Andrew is not leaving Royal Lodge without a fight.
According to OK! Magazine, the Duke of York is determined to hold on to his 30-room, Grade II listed mansion, in Windsor Great Park. A source claimed:
Andrew is adamant that he is staying at Royal Lodge for the remainder of his lease.
He will not move into Frogmore without a fight. Royal Lodge is his home and he will do everything in his power to remain on the property.

Emphasising that it won’t be that easy to remove Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge, the source added:
Prince Andrew was given the keys to Frogmore quite recently and was expected to move in this summer.
Eugenie is currently staying there to help move out Harry and Meghan’s things while her dad tries to hold on to Royal Lodge. The handover date was expected in July or August but he’s not going anywhere.

When will Prince Andrew’s Royal Lodge lease end?
The Duke is understood to have signed a 75-year lease on the £30 million property, reported Hello! Magazine. The lease was signed in 2003 and Prince Andrew has been paying £250 a week to reside at the royal home. The lease binds the disgraced Duke to fund the cost himself and adhere to strict rules about living at the Royal Lodge.

Meaning, Prince Andrew’s lease entitles him to stay at his current home until 2078 as long as he lives by the lease agreement. In case Prince Andrew ever breaks the lease, Royal Lodge would be reverted to Crown Estate - from where Prince Andrew has leased the property.
The Duke is also expected to bear all the cost of refurbishing, restoration and upkeep of the historical building. The agreement also states that Royal Lodge should be ‘maintained as a Royal park and forest.’
