He is currently making headlines for his red-carpet debut with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso, after over one and a half years of dating. A year after going official on Instagram, the couple has finally made their relationship official in a public space, as per Hollywood Life. But prior to where he is today, as a happy boyfriend, there was another side to The Witcher actor.

Cavill’s 2018 GQ interview

In 2018, long before Cavill found love with Viscuso, he did an interview with GQ where he spoke candidly about his perceptions on many subjects. He did explicitly hint at his desire to find love with a partner. But he did say something a bit alarming about the famous #MeToo movement.

Cavill’s comments on the #MeToo movement

Upon being broached about the #MeToo movement, Cavill said:

I’ve been fortunate enough not to be around the kind of people who behave that way. To my memory, there’s been no moments where I look back and think, Oh, OK, maybe someone shouldn’t have gone through that.

He also added that he likes to think he has never made women feel that way. But anything when 'cast too harsh a light' could be seen as an offense. Cavill continued:

Stuff has to change, absolutely. It’s important to also retain the good things, which were a quality of the past, and get rid of the bad things. There’s something wonderful about a man chasing a woman. There’s a traditional approach to that, which is nice. I think a woman should be wooed and chased, but maybe I’m old-fashioned for thinking that.

He added that he thinks twice before approaching a woman because he doesn’t want to be called a 'rapist'. And he’d rather call an ex-girlfriend with whom things didn’t work with, as opposed to 'casting himself through the fires of hell'.
