The history of their friendship

According to the Irish Mirror, the problems apparently began between the two when Victoria was unable to provide Mel with a dress she had asked to borrow for the reality TV show, It’s A Scary World.

In 2011, after announcing her third pregnancy, Mel posted on Twitter to thank the Spice Girls for their support - excluding Beckham. She wrote:

Ahh big thanks to my spice girls mel c, geri and emma for their baby well wishes! Love you! Xxxxx.

In 2013, on America’s Got Talent, fellow talent show judge Howard Stern revealed that Mel 'told me Posh Spice couldn’t dance to save her life…'

Then, on Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss' Allegedly podcast in 2016, Mel described Beckham as 'very down-to-earth; she's just a little bit of a b**ch to people', as reported by Indepedent.ie.

Reconciliation

The two appeared to reconcile when Victoria sent her support to Mel after she shared her experience with domestic abuse in 2021. Victoria then described Mel as a 'true role model' when she received her MBE for services to charitable causes and vulnerable women. She also dressed her for the ceremony, with Mel expressing her thanks and hugging Victoria in a photo.

Mel's disapproval of David

But now, Scary is hitting out at Posh’s husband, David Beckham, for his 10-year deal reportedly worth £150 million as an ambassador for Qatar, which is hosting the upcoming World Cup. She said on the Not My Bagg podcast, as reported by The Sun:

I’m an ally to the LGBTQ+ community so I’d feel very uncomfortable showing support for it.
I under-stand people want to talk about sport being able to change culture, but when there’s so much money involved, it’s tricky.
It’s difficult. David is a friend, and every-body has to make their own choices.

This might put a potential Spice Girlsreunion at Glastonbury at jeopardy...
