Who is Laura Tobin? Her education and career so far
Born on October 10, 1981, the star from Northampton is not only a TV presenter but also a meteorologist. Laura did her schooling at Duston Upper School, gaining A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Art. She then went on to obtain a degree in Physics and Meteorology at the University of Reading. It is understood that the 42-year-old also did a World Meteorological Organization course on climate from Reading, reports The Sun.
The weather in charge of GMB started working with ITV in 2012. According to OK! Magazine, she initially joined ITV’s Daybreak which later became GMB. However, that’s not where her career began. Her career began at the Met Office.
Laura moved from the Met Office to BBC Radio Walesbefore doing aeronautical meteorology reports at RAF Brize Norton. Her BBC journey was lengthy as she appeared on many shows before becoming a staple on ITV. Her BBC shows include -BBC Weather Centre, BBC News, BBC World News, BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC News At One. Throughout her career, one thing remained constant and that was her passion for weather and communicating the impacts of climate change. It is only due to her passion that the star’s net worth is $2 million, roughly £1.6 million, according to Celebworth.net.
Laura Tobin's personal life - marriage and if she has any kids
Apart from her exceptional career, Laura’s marriage and family also take over her time and attention. The ITV presenter met her husband Dean Brown when she was studying at the University of Reading and the two have been together for two decades.
Her relationship with Dean is a well-oiled machine. The star’s husband prefers to stay out of the limelight so not much is known about him except for the fact that he wasn’t as ‘intense’ as Laura’s exes and hence she married him.
Laura tied the knot in August 2010 and shares a baby daughter Charlotte Blossom Brown. She announced her pregnancy on GMB in 2017 and ended up giving a premature birth to her daughter. Reportedly, Charlotte weighed less than 3lbs when she was born. Laura also went on to share awareness about premature baby charity Bliss. Charlotte is now a healthy 6-year-old.
