Eamonn Holmes’ personal life has been in the spotlight ever since his split from Ruth Langsford, and now reports suggest his relationship with girlfriend Katie Alexander has faced challenges of its own. The broadcaster, 65, has allegedly been working to smooth things over with Alexander, 43, by treating her to luxury outings and gifts, even as his ongoing divorce continues to stir headlines. Lavish gestures as Eamonn mends relationship with Katie Alexander

According to The Standard, Holmes’ romance with Alexander hit a ‘rocky patch’ earlier this year when he pulled out of buying her reported £550,000 dream home in West Yorkshire. To make amends, the GB News host has since turned to grand gestures.

He is said to have treated Alexander to VIP tickets at Manchester United’s £100 million hospitality stand, where Michelin-star meals accompanied a £12,000 price tag.

The couple were spotted together at the match, with a source telling The Standard:

Eamonn and Katie didn’t always look blissfully happy at the football, but at least they showed they are still an item.
Eamonn’s moody face later might have been due to United conceding an equaliser to Fulham - denying his team a much needed win. The Northern Ireland air will have cheered him up for sure.

Holmes reportedly continued his efforts by whisking Alexander away to his native Belfast for a romantic getaway, followed by a family holiday in Cyprus with her three adult children. Their trip included a stay at a five-star hotel and a yacht cruise, adding to his string of reconciliation gestures.

Eamonn and Ruth’s divorce drama and family tensions escalate

This comes after Holmes is also dealing with his ongoing divorce from Ruth Langsford. As reported by The Standard, the presenter appeared to take a swipe at his ex during GB News colleague Nana Akua’s engagement party, where he referred to Alexander as his ‘soulmate’ and added:

In sickness you find out who is there for you.

His remarks have reportedly not gone down well with his children. A source told Bella magazine, quoted by The Standard:

All the kids are very upset, hurt and embarrassed by Eamonn’s behaviour and are tired of the constant pressure of picking sides. They’ve warned him not to make them choose because he might not like the outcome, but he didn’t listen.

Discussing Holmes’ reported dig at Langsford, the source added:

As far as they see it, Ruth isn’t the one swanning around with someone new and younger on her arm.

Further reports suggest Holmes and his son Niall had a ‘huge row’ following the split, with accusations of taking sides adding strain to the father-son relationship. Meanwhile, Langsford recently removed her wedding ring after more than a year, a symbolic move that underscored the finality of their 27-year partnership.
