This child, now a 48-year-old woman known only as 'B', has lived a life shrouded in secrecy until now. In Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury’s Secret Life and Love by Lesley-Ann Jones, the woman shares what she claims are deeply personal memories, including a trove of private diaries left to her by Mercury himself.

With a DNA test reportedly confirming her identity and long-hidden accounts from those closest to the singer, this alleged revelation is both intimate and astonishing.

Freddie Mercury's secret daughter revealed in bombshell new book

In a startling revelation, the upcoming biography Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury’s Secret Life and Love by Lesley-Ann Jones claims that Freddie Mercury—who used to take Princess Diana to gay bars—fathered a child in 1976.

According to a Daily Mail report cited in People, this daughter, identified as 'B', was born following a brief relationship between Mercury and the wife of a close friend. The book presents what appears to be B's own written testimony:

Freddie Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life.

She also claims he gifted her 17 volumes of his private diaries before his death in 1991, entrusting her with his most intimate thoughts and memories.

Jones says the family—including Mercury, the mother, and her husband (B's stepfather)—agreed to raise the child together. Mercury reportedly had his own room in their home and stayed with them frequently, calling B every day while he was on tour. She writes in the book:

He adored me and was devoted to me.

According to Jones, the inner circle aware of B's existence included Mercury's parents, sister, Queen bandmates, and his long-time confidante Mary Austin. Despite this, even members of Mercury’s household were unaware of the child’s existence.

Although B has chosen to remain anonymous, the biography indicates that her mother was married to a close friend of Mercury at the time of B's birth.

It was reportedly a consensual agreement between all three adults to raise the child together, with Mercury playing an active role in her life. Her stepfather remained her legal parent, but Mercury frequently stayed with the family and maintained a room at their residence.

Fans question the claim, the author offers clarification

Unsurprisingly, the news has sparked a wave of skepticism from fans. Critics questioned the authenticity of Mercury's alleged diaries and demanded proof of the daughter’s claims.

In response, Lesley-Ann Jones addressed these concerns directly. She stated:

To those ‘demanding’ to see proof of a DNA test, otherwise they won’t believe it - please rest assured that the requisite verification was obtained, legal teams have been involved, but that such measures are private and not shared publicly.

She also dismissed allegations that the diaries could be AI-generated fakes. On X, she wrote:

To those insisting Freddie Mercury’s diaries were faked with AI, that his daughter ‘doesn’t exist’ and that I’ve made the whole thing up: wait and see. His true story, told in his own words, is incredible. I love him all the more for it. You will too.

The woman identified as B maintains her privacy but has reportedly offered substantial personal evidence to Jones, including photos, cards, and bank records. She insists that she never sought fame or financial gain and has led a private life in Europe, away from public attention.

In a letter included in the biography, B explains:

After more than three decades of lies, speculation and distortion, it is time to let Freddie speak. Those who have been aware of my existence kept his greatest secret out of loyalty to Freddie. That I choose to reveal myself in my own midlife is my decision and mine alone.

Freddie Mercury's love life: Mary Austin, Jim Hutton and more

Freddie Mercury's personal life was famously rich and complex, filled with enduring relationships and dramatic love stories. His bond with Mary Austin remains one of the most iconic.

They met in 1969 and were engaged for a time before Mercury revealed his sexuality. Yet Mary remained a central figure in his life until the end. As he once said:

All my lovers asked me why they couldn’t replace Mary, but it’s simply impossible.

Mary inherited half of his £75 million estate and still resides in his former home. She also honoured his wish to have his ashes secretly scattered, a detail she has never publicly disclosed.

Jim Hutton, Mercury’s long-time partner, played an essential role during the most difficult period of his life. They met in 1985 and became inseparable, living together at Mercury's Garden Lodge mansion in Kensington.

Although they could not legally marry, they exchanged rings to symbolise their commitment. Hutton remained by Mercury's side through his illness and eventual death. He even placed a teddy bear in Mercury's coffin as a final gesture of love. Mercury left him £500,000 and gifted him cherished possessions, including the lyrics to 'Mr Bad Guy' and his Wembley jacket.

After Mercury's death, Hutton moved to Ireland, where he built a cottage with the money Freddie left him. He passed away from lung cancer in 2010.

Mercury also had a series of passionate and often tragic relationships. These included David Minns, Joe Fanelli, Tony Bastin, Winnie Kirchberger, Bill Reid, and Vince the barman.

Joe became Mercury's chef and friend, living with him until his final days. Bill Reid's relationship was marked by volatility. Vince, a brief romantic interest, declined to give up his bar job to join Mercury on tour but later called him 'the highlight of my life.'

As reported by Mirror, many of Mercury's partners were affected by the AIDS epidemic, with several dying of the disease. These stories add further poignancy to Mercury's own battle with AIDS and the secrecy he maintained until his final statement.
