BBC Breakfast staple Carol Kirkwood was missing from the show on Monday in another unexpected presenter shake-up. When Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were presenting as usual in Salford Studio, the 61-year-old meteorologist was nowhere to be seen. Many presenters have taken off during this month, however, Carol’s absence may actually be one of the longest of them all.

BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood gets replaced by another presenter

According to The Sun, Carol was replaced by Sarah Keith-Lucas who brought viewers the latest weather updates. Sarah presented to the people what temperatures and conditions they could expect over the next 24 hours.

Apart from Carol, other presenters shake-up also took place at BBC this month. Earlier this month, Sally was absent from the Breakfast table for a week as she jetted off on a girls' trip to celebrate her birthday. Charlie Stayt also missed some of his usual slots alongside Naga Munchetty.

Carol Kirkwood’s exclusive four-day break

Carol’s absence may be a longer-than-expected event as the popular weather presenter and proud Scotswoman is going on a tour in October. The four-day trip will embark the travellers on an adventure of a lifetime as they will Glide through heavenly scenery on the famous Jacobite Train and enjoy cruises on Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond.

Carol will be a part of their experience and will give an exclusive talk and stories of the Loch Morar monster. Carol’s grandfather helped build the magnificent 21-arch Glenfinnan Viaduct which also features in the Harry Potter films, confirmed Good Housekeeping Holidays. She will elaborate on her twice-weekly train journey to school in Fort William.

The tour will start from in the foothills of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis and pass through the country's deepest freshwater loch, Loch Morar before travelling over the Glenfinnan Viaduct to arrive on the shores of the Atlantic next to Loch Nevis.
