Nicole Eggert has been diagnosed with breast cancer

On Monday, January 8, 2024, Nicole Eggert revealed to People that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She explained that she had gained weight and then felt pain in her left breast in October 2023.

The actress, 52, said that at first, she thought her symptoms were due to menopause, but after checking her breast herself, she felt a lump and ‘immediately’ went to get it checked.

She told People:

It really was throbbing and hurting. I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at.

She then revealed that getting an appointment was difficult as ‘everything was booked’ and she had to wait until the end of November to get the lump checked out.

Nicole Eggert was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer, she is currently waiting to find out whether she will have surgery first then chemotherapy, or have chemotherapy first and then surgery. Nicole also doesn’t know whether the cancer has spread elsewhere in her body.

I can definitely feel it. It's there. It needs to be taken out. So it's just a matter of do I have to do treatment before the surgery or can they perform the surgery and then I do the treatment after.

She then added that knowing the lump is still there plays on her mind and she sometimes has panic attacks:

I have panics where I'm like, just get this out of me
